Santander Asset Management is seeking a Vice President - Financial Controller for a 14-month fixed-term contract. This senior role will lead the finance function, ensuring effective financial management and strategic support for the COO. The successful candidate will manage reporting, budgets, and oversee relationships with service providers while fostering collaboration across the UK business.

SAM UK is a small Company within the global business, requiring resilient financial management, with Finance playing a pivotal role in the operations of the business and the delivery of its strategic objectives. This is a senior position within the business, sits on the SAM UK Operating Forum, and is expected to support the COO in implementing and delivering the wider business strategy.
The role leads the Finance function and manages an Assistant Management Accountant, being ultimately accountable for the whole finance function and related processes, controls, submissions and policies, including having oversight of the outsourced financial accounting service provider and tax teams.
The difference you’ll make:
You will manage the statutory accounts, systems and process improvements, preparation of ad hoc and statutory reporting requirements, plus review of regulatory reporting. The role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of the finance function requirements to the broader business.

This role will be based in our office in either Glasgow or London.
We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our end clients and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles) including attending every Monday and Thursday. If you apply for this role in this location, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location.
