The EMEA Operations department supports MUFG\'s core products and services including Banking (payments, loans, derivatives, trade finance) and Securities (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equity). The role of Operations is to manage the interaction between Operations and MUFG\'s internal clients (Front Office, Trading Desks) and has close ties with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other support areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the business to gather formal Business Requirements and input into Technical design documents.
- Supporting the business to review and provide input into As-Is and To-Be workflows.
- Performing GAP analysis between current state and proposed state solutions.
- Formulating testing approaches and supporting writing of test plans.
- Completing project/work-stream status reports.
- General ad-hoc support for any new requirements or issues related to the project.
- Ability to deal with trade lifecycle queries.
- Problem solving of issues as they occur throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the relevant Business\' expansion strategy.
- Review bespoke Business requirements to ensure Operations delivery in partnership with Processing teams, accuracy and compliance with bank policy and market requirements.
- Support documentation requirements throughout the project lifecycle and draft various requirement documents where required ensuring content is fit for purpose and thorough so that project scope is assessed appropriately.
- Draft clear, concise, and complete PowerPoint decks and other presentation materials used to update senior management and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with third party vendors where required to analyse proposed solutions to process changes and ensure business requirements are addressed adequately.
- Prioritize the pipeline in a manner that is deliverable for Operations and commercially beneficial for the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain and improve service levels and deliver first-class client experience with effective inter-departmental collaboration.
- Drive and implement efficiency improvements and new business initiatives.
- Act as an escalation point of contact for internal and external technical queries and client-related issues, liaising with other stakeholders to seek resolution and escalate as required.
- Understand and influence in the wider market / industry environment and participate in working groups where required.
- Review and present management information, reporting, and periodical submissions to Business/Branch recipients as required.
- Use data analytics and trend analysis to drive short-term tactical as well as strategic change.
- Actively manage and build relationships with Front Office and other key business partners across the firm.
- Carry out management responsibilities in line with Company policies and procedures, including training, objective setting, performance appraisals, and managing staff as applicable.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Business analysis experience working for a top-tier bank.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of OPS functions/workflows.
- Good knowledge across assets classes, particularly Fixed Income, Equity and Derivatives.
- Understanding of Ops processes and system feed changes with external providers.
- Ability to resolve issues during delivery and communicate with stakeholders and Technology teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, autonomously and in a team.
- Strong liaison with business and IT stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ideally, knowledge of Murex & Gloss platforms.
- Understanding of Vanilla Interest Rate products.
- Strong delivery track record and ownership of Operations tasks.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience in management of back-office functions or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of securities products and back-office responsibilities.
- Experience coordinating and delivering strategic projects with complex requirements.
- Experience in stakeholder management and decision-making with positive impact on teams.
- Track record delivering strategic initiatives and creating efficiencies.
- Experience implementing and improving the operational control environment.
