The Opportunity

As the Head of Finance, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing all financial operations and guiding the financial strategy of the business area. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong business acumen, financial expertise, and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, including profit and loss analysis, aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary financial representative to executive leadership and relevant governance bodies, ensuring transparency and alignment on financial matters.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Oversee the financial aspects of M&A activity, including due diligence, valuation, integration planning, and post-deal performance tracking.
  • Risk and Capital Management: Conduct financial risk assessments and manage working capital to optimize financial efficiency and resilience.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term business planning and support the development of new initiatives, product launches, and service offerings through financial insights.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with senior leaders across functions to support decision-making and ensure financial outcomes align with business goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Evaluate financial performance and provide actionable insights to support both short-term results and long-term growth.
  • Systems and Processes: Work with IT and finance operations teams to ensure robust financial systems and processes are in place to support business needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop finance teams across regions or business units. Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and corporate policies.
Qualifications:
  • Professional Qualification: Chartered accountant (ICAEW, CIMA, or ACCA).
  • Strategic Expertise: Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, business-oriented finance teams.
  • Experience: Extensive background in financial planning and analysis, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Analytical Skills: Advanced financial modeling and data analysis capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent at presenting complex financial insights clearly and effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Excel and financial systems.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial reporting standards and accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP planning software.
