Job description

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician - Vibration at our Burton, MI lab. Element Burton is an industry-leading provider of testing and inspection services for the automotive, industrial, and aerospace industries.

We specialize in environmental simulation, electrical testing, EMC, and vibration testing. Our team provides testing of advanced vehicle systems, including safety systems, dynamics, driver assistance systems, but our expertise extends from materials testing to failure analysis and spans multiple industries.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up and performance of Vibration & Shock tests
  • Data collection utilizing vibration control systems, accelerometers, force sensors, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.
  • Analysis and verification of test setups, test levels and requirements
  • Good mechanical inclination and ability to demonstrate hands-on experience and be detail-oriented
  • Setup of vibration and shock testing, including operational knowledge and programming of vibration control systems
  • Rotate shakers and run reports
  • Troubleshooting and configurations and electrical set-ups
  • Data documentation and write test reports
Skills / Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience operating electrodynamic/hydraulic vibration systems/experience in dynamics/vibration testing
  • Working knowledge of Vibration Research, Dactron and UD vibration controllers’ systems.
  • Ability to program environmental chambers – Synergy, Watlow, Thermotron and ESPEC.
  • Requires excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and overtime when needed
