THE THIRD FLOOR is the world’s leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London, as well as on location with productions worldwide. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content through computer-animated blueprints, known as “previsualizations.” The Third Floor is a creative company founded by artists, for artists, working on high-profile projects while maintaining a small studio culture. The company has won multiple Emmy and VES awards. Recent projects include Avatar: The Way of Water, House of the Dragon, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, For All Mankind, Masters of the Air, among others.

The VFX Coordinator plays a central role in Previs project management. They liaise with all aspects of production and help strategize and implement tasks crucial for delivering projects on time and within budget.

Project-Based. Full-Time. Must be located in the United Kingdom.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Liaise between vendors, crew, and internal teams to improve communication flow across departments.
  2. Organize dailies, Cinesync, Zoom sessions, meetings, and take notes for follow-up.
  3. Keep Shotgrid updated with notes, shot status, and critical information.
  4. Work with Line Producer and Supervisors to track and manage artists, ensuring deadlines are met.
  5. Support the schedule with the Line Producer.
  6. Maintain crew actuals, review management with the production manager, and support accurate timecard approvals.
  7. Manage crew actuals and bid man days within schedule documents.
  8. Anticipate issues and communicate them promptly to resolve problems quickly.
  9. Communicate effectively and succinctly with crew and departments in person, not just via email.
  10. Update internal and client contact lists for all projects.
  11. Oversee client deliveries.
  12. Compile weekly project reports with input from Supervisors and Line Producer.
  13. Arrange wrap meetings and client gift lists.
  14. Maintain a positive, professional, and proactive production office environment, welcoming new artists.
  15. Assist Production with additional duties as needed.
  16. The role may require off-site periods.
  17. Have knowledge of digital audio and video file formats.
  18. Be highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
  19. Be comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  20. Respond to urgent matters after hours as necessary.
  21. Operate as a team player in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
  22. Align with our workplace culture and values.
  23. Possess strong knowledge of Google Sheets, MS Office, and Filemaker Pro.
  24. Have experience with production databases, including Filemaker Pro & Shotgrid.
  25. Knowledge of animation or VFX processes is a plus.
  26. Good knowledge of Maya and Photoshop is a plus.
