AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Vetting Advisor to manage cases end-to-end, ensuring compliance with national standards and legal requirements. You will assess suitability, provide guidance throughout the process and maintain records with strict confidentiality across multiple case management systems.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and related privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and process end-to-end vetting applications, ensuring compliance.
  • Liaise with applicants, internal stakeholders, and external agencies to gather and verify information.
  • Prepare clear, concise case notes to support progression or closure.
  • Maintain confidential records in line with data protection regulations across case management systems.
  • Handle aftercare activities per UKSV policies.
  • Provide high level customer service and guidance on vetting matters.

Overview

Do you strongly believe that security vetting safeguards our business, clients and employees? The vetting team has an opportunity for a detailed-focussed individual to join the team in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.

Join AtkinsRéalis Decommissioning as a Vetting Advisor, where you will manage vetting cases end-to-end in line with organisational policies, national standards and legal requirements. You will assess suitability, provide expert guidance throughout the vetting process and ensure that all applications are processed fairly, consistently and in a timely manner, supporting AtkinsRéalis commitment to safeguarding and integrity.

Your role
  • Assess and process end-to-end vetting applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
  • Liaise with applicants, internal stakeholders, and external agencies to gather and verify information.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-reasoned case notes to support case progression or closure.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with data protection regulations, managed across various case management systems.
  • Handle aftercare activities in line with UKSV policies.
  • Provide a consistent and high level of customer service, offering advice and guidance on vetting matters to candidates, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key security personnel and HR teams
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of vetting processes and procedures.

  • Proficient in using case management systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in vetting, compliance, HR, or investigative roles.
  • Understanding of national vetting standards and security clearance processes.
  • Relevant qualifications in security, law, or public administration (desirable but not essential).

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
