BluePearl Pet Hospital in Malvern, PA is hiring an extraordinary Medical Oncology Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $ - $ / hour

Shift: 4 x 10 hour shifts.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
  • Understand normal lab parameters and alert the veterinarian to abnormalities.
  • Place peripheral intravenous catheters.
  • Calculate basic medical math.
  • Prepare materials for chemotherapy administration.
  • Dispense and administer oral and injectable chemotherapy agents safely.
  • Check chemotherapy calculations and dosages.
  • Properly shave and wrap for IV catheter placement.
  • Understand chemotherapy extravasation procedures.
  • Admit and discharge oncology patients, including client education on post-treatment care.
  • Maintain knowledge of veterinary medical terms and communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Address client concerns professionally.
  • Have knowledge of tumor types and diagnostic protocols.
  • Assist with anesthesia and monitoring as needed.
  • Remain current on CPR guidelines and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain hospital cleanliness and stock supplies.
