Job summary

The University of Lancashire invites applications for several part-time roles in the School of Veterinary Medicine to support practical teaching sessions, including clinical skills and animal handling. The posts may involve teaching at external locations and supporting student selection events, assessments and placements.

Availability during Semester 1 (October–December 2026) with a half or full day per week across several weeks.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) or Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) or eligible to register with the RCVS.
• Experience of working within a clinical veterinary setting and knowledge of current UK veterinary practice.
• No prior teaching experience required; passion for veterinary medicine and student support.

Responsibilities

About the role:

We are recruiting several part-time positions to join the School of Veterinary Medicine and support our academic team deliver practical sessions such as clinical skills and animal handling teaching. The roles may also involve supporting teaching and educational activities at external or off-site locations. Successful candidates may also be involved in student selection events, student assessments, and preparing and supporting students on their placements.

These posts are to support teaching during Semester 1 (October-December 2026). Applicants should consider their availability during this period, as we would ideally be looking for individuals who can offer a half or full day per week across several weeks of the semester.

About you:

Applicants must be a registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) or Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) (or eligible to register with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). You must have experience of working within a clinical veterinary setting and knowledge of current UK veterinary practice.
