Job summary

Craigleith Vets for Pets, located in Edinburgh inside a Pets at Home store, seeks an experienced vet to join a close-knit, well-established team. The role offers development support, a silver IFSM cat-friendly accreditation, and a generous salary up to £65,000 depending on experience.

The role includes 1 in 3 weekends with weekend shifts mainly filled by emergencies; time back during the week is provided. A flexible work pattern may suit part-time applicants.

• This role is ideally for full time and will include 1 in 3 weekends. However, as we are a flexible working employer we are happy to consider part time as well.

Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Craigleith Vets for Pets is a well-established and welcoming practice with a loyal client base. Our modern, fully equipped surgery is based within a Pets at Home store, providing easy access to excellent facilities and a collaborative working environment. You’ll be joining a passionate and skilled team made up of two full-time vets, two part-time vets, three RVNs, a dedicated Practice Manager, and three client care advisors.

We pride ourselves on offering advanced services in emergency and critical care, feline nursing, dermatology, and clinical animal behaviour.

About the role:

This position is ideally for a full-time experienced vet in Craigleith Vets for Pets, however we know this does not work for everyone so we can consider part time, please let us know what you are looking for.

It will include working 1 in 3 weekends, Saturdays are 9am till 5pm and Sundays are 10am to 5pm. However, time back during the week is given for weekends worked and we aim to operate a fixed rota to support work-life balance, allowing you to really switch off.

Weekends will be sole charge and will mainly see sick / emergency cases with a limited number of vaccinations. There will be no scheduled surgeries on these days giving you the ability to treat any emergencies that come in.
