Job description

24-Hour Veterinary Hospital in Watford requires Veterinary surgeon
Veterinary Surgeon | Full-Time or Part-Time | Flexible Working Available
Looking for your next step in a well-equipped, forward-thinking veterinary hospital?
Whether you're an experienced clinician or looking to broaden your skills, This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and talented team in Watford.
At this 24-hour hospital, no two days are the same. This purpose-built facility supports a varied caseload with all the tools you need at your fingertips. You'll consult in one of four modern rooms, collaborate with colleagues in two dedicated theatres—one for orthopedics, the other for soft tissue—and work alongside a highly skilled nursing and support team.
You’ll have access to a wide range of equipment including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, full dental suite with dental x-ray, and even CT imaging. The in-house lab enables fast and reliable diagnostics with equipment for coagulation profiles and iSTAT, and separate wards—including dog, cat, isolation, and recovery—allow them to deliver gold-standard care.
When you need to reset, staff break areas offer a comfortable space to recharge and connect with colleagues. Many of the vets hold certificates—or are working towards them—in areas such as internal medicine, diagnostic imaging (CT & cardiology), ECC, orthopedics, and soft tissue surgery. The culture is built around mutual respect, shared learning, and continuous development.
This is more than just a clinical role—it’s an opportunity to grow as a veterinary professional in a place that values your contribution and supports your ambitions.
This role is available full-time (40 hours across four days) with a 1 in 6 weekend rota. But also open to part-time or flexible working arrangements, so if you're looking to achieve a better balance between your personal and professional life, They’re happy to talk.
Let’s Talk About the Perks
They believe in rewarding your hard work and commitment with a benefits package designed to support every area of your life—from your health and finances to your career development and well-being.
You’ll receive:
• Private Medical Insurance and a Health Cash Plan from day one (includes 24/7 GP access, dental, optical and physio)
• 5 weeks’ holiday + bank holidays (rising to 6 weeks with service)
• £1,500 CPD allowance + 3 paid CPD days, internal CPD, and certificate funding
• VDS, RCVS & BVA fees covered
• Life Assurance (3x salary)
• Sabbatical after a qualifying period
• Pension scheme
• Relocation support and Certificates of Sponsorship (Tier 2) available
