Job description

Our Medivet Swanland 24-Hour Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with Diagnostic Imaging experience. This opportunity provides a very supportive environment, with a varied and busy caseload. The Swanland team includes a passionate Lead Vet, Head Nurse, Practice Manager, and a strong Clinical Vet and RVN team supported by SVN and admin staff. We also have a dedicated night team of experienced vets & RVNs for out-of-hours coverage.

Facilities include 24-hour hospitalisation, separate wards for dogs, cats, exotics, and isolation, three operating theatres with modern surgical equipment, an in-house lab, and excellent diagnostic imaging facilities such as ultrasound, Doppler, digital X-ray, digital endoscopes, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy, and a CT suite, along with diagnostic ECG, hydrotherapy, underwater treadmill, and laser therapy.

This is a permanent position, available full-time or part-time. We are flexible to accommodate your needs. A relocation package is available if relocating from outside the UK or more than 60 miles from your current UK address.

  • Provide clear updates and care to clients.
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored treatment plans with cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop team members.
  • Complete clinical handovers and coordinate patient transfers.
  • Share best clinical practices within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.
  • Effective team player with clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures.
