Veterinary Surgeon Full Time Leominster, Herefordshire
Permanent | Strong Surgical Focus | Flexible Work Across Two Sites

A well-established, semi-rural veterinary practice in the scenic market town of Leominster is seeking a confident and skilled Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical focus to join its large, collaborative team. Situated in beautiful Herefordshire, with additional opportunities to work occasionally at a nearby practice in Ludlow, this role offers a perfect balance of clinical challenge, mentorship, and lifestyle.

The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team comprising several vets, 9 nurses, and 8 reception/admin professionals. With a varied caseload and a strong support system, the role allows the vet to focus fully on delivering exceptional care to clients and their petswithout the distractions of on-call or bank holiday commitments.

Working Pattern:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week

  • 1 in 6 Saturdays (no on-call or bank holidays)

  • Flexible and part-time options will be considered

What the Role Involves:

  • Performing surgical procedures and consultations to a high clinical standard

  • Communicating clearly with clients and providing excellent patient updates

  • Creating tailored treatment plans with transparent costings

  • Participating in clinical handovers and ensuring continuity of care

  • Collaborating with colleagues across two practices for integrated team support

  • Sharing and promoting clinical best practices

  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues where needed

Candidate Requirements:

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon

  • Confident in soft tissue and routine surgeries

  • Experienced in collaborative, team-based veterinary environments

  • Committed to delivering a high standard of care to patients and clients

  • Familiar with nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures

  • Keen to work in a supportive setting with mentorship opportunities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
