Job description

Role Overview

Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon with a passion for providing the best affordable healthcare to pets? If so, this role could be your perfect fit. Join a nearly 3-year-old, purpose-built clinic that prioritises a Fear Free approach to pet care. This clinic is part of a rapidly growing group of independent, family-owned practices, where pets receive the care they would choose.

Team & Experience

This role offers the chance to work alongside a highly experienced Clinic Director, two other vets, and a dedicated team of 5 RVNs, 2 VCAs, and 4 FTE front-of-house Care Coordinators. With a preference for candidates boasting 2+ years of experience, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys a collaborative environment and has a great sense of humour.

Working Schedule

The working schedule is designed to provide a balanced mix of consulting and theatre slots, with daily administration time factored in. The role involves a 4-day workweek from 08:45 am to 7:00 pm, with 15-minute consults. There is a 1:4 Saturday morning rota from 08:30 am to 1:00 pm, which will increase as the clinic and vet team grow. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours commitments.

Benefits

The benefits package is comprehensive and includes 5 weeks of holiday plus bank holidays, private medical insurance with Employee Assistance Programme access, and a £1,000 standard CPD allowance with the potential to study towards certificates. Fear Free training and accreditation are provided as standard. Additional perks include a day off for your birthday, two days off to work for a local charity of your choice, a workplace pension scheme, and free Total Wellness Plans for your pets with a 25% discount on subsequent plans and treatments.

Professional fees for RCVS and VDS are covered, and a relocation package of up to £5,000 is available. Visa sponsorship for overseas candidates is also offered. The team enjoys a quarterly 'fun budget' for socialising outside of work, as well as summer and Christmas group social events. There are also ad hoc trips to Nice and Monaco for CPD, with the chance to win a trip to the North American Vet Congress in Orlando.

Salary

The salary for this role ranges from £50,000 to £65,000, depending on experience.

Qualifications

You must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and eligible to register with the RCVS to be considered for this role.
