Job description

Role

Westwood Vets is looking for an experienced vet surgeon to cover a 12-month fixed term contract. Ideally confident in both consults and routine surgeries as well as dentistry and some sole charge work when working Saturday shifts.

Hours

Working up to 40 hours per week across 4 days consisting of 10-hour days, with an hour for lunch and working 1:4 Saturdays. We would also consider a part time applicant and are able to consider flexible working hours. We aim to rota vets to have 2 days where they have ops time, and 2 consulting days. We aim to provide adequate admin time between consulting blocks. Most of our vets work between both branches, but this can be discussed.

Why us?

Veterinary Practice is a well-established practice with visible presence with branches in the rural village setting of Boston Spa and bustling town of Garforth. Both practices offer different capabilities, with most diagnostics performed at the Boston Spa branch and Dentistry at the Garforth surgery.

As a practice we strive to offer high quality care to all our patients, with a keen focus on diagnostic work ups and offering proactive preventative health care. We are a warm and friendly team with an excellent client base.

Location

Boston Spa is a picturesque village on the border of North Yorkshire with a high street packed with delis and coffee shops and a variety of lovely walks for a lunch time stroll. The practice is well established in the community, and we like to get involved in local initiatives such as the scarecrow festival and charity Christmas tree events.

Garforth offers a more suburban feel with excellent transport links to the nearby Leeds and York by bus and train. The practice is situated in a busy retail park with excellent links to both the A1/M1 motorways.
