Job description
Overview

Ready for Your Next Step as a GP Vet? We're looking for a confident and committed Veterinary Surgeon to take the reins at our Clevedon branch. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants increased responsibility and leadership without stepping into a Clinical Director role.

The Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term position, ideally offering 34 hours across four days per week. The role includes 2-3 days of sole charge at our Clevedon site, and 1-2 days at our main hospital in Portishead, with no out of hours responsibilities. We are open to discussing alternative flexible working hours to suit the right candidate. Time spent at our main hospital supports integration with the wider team and provides the opportunity to benefit from their shared clinical expertise.

About Us

Our team consists of 10 vets, ranging from new graduates to experienced GPs, and includes certificate holders in medicine, and ECC, as well as an Advanced Practitioner in Ophthalmology. This wealth of experience ensures plenty of lively and collaborative clinical discussions.

We're well equipped with a wide range of diagnostic and clinical tools, including laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital and dental radiography, in-house laboratory facilities, and multi-parameter monitoring equipment—among many others.

We place a strong emphasis on work-life balance: making sure breaks are taken, no one feels overworked, and everyone finishes on time. We're a friendly and supportive team, so we're looking for someone who will not only care for their patients but also enjoy being part of a close-knit and collaborative practice.

Key Responsibilities

Alongside your clinical duties, you'll play a key role in the continued growth and smooth running of our Clevedon branch. This includes:

  • Day-to-day clinical leadership and support of the branch team
  • Clinical and financial reporting
  • Attending clinical and practice meetings
  • Supporting and promoting key initiatives
  • Providing regular feedback and input into the branch's development

We would love to hear from you if you think this would be the perfect next step in your career!
