Job description

Island Veterinary Associates are looking for a dedicated GP Vet to join their team! The successful candidate will be given a well-balanced caseload of medicine and surgery. However, this role has the option to offer more of an emphasis on surgery, making it suitable for those with that clinical interest. The role will be based predominantly at our Stafford site, with occasional cover at our Stone & Bloxwich sites for staff holidays and sickness gaps. We support full certificate training for candidates with such ambitions. A welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata) is available for new hires!

Fix or flex - find your perfect balance

We accept both full- and part-time applications. A full-time role involves working 40 hours over 4 days per week, on a shared rota with a fair shift pattern. You will work 1 in 5 Saturday mornings, with no out-of-hours duties, though inpatient care coverage may be required.

We are a friendly, small animal practice based in Stafford, surrounded by beautiful countryside ideal for outdoor activities. Our newly refurbished premises feature 5 consulting rooms, a large waiting area, two theatres, a central prep room, dental and imaging rooms, and top-tier equipment including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, and an in-house lab. Our supportive team includes 2 certificate holders in small animal surgery and specialists in orthopedics.

About the Team and Culture

Our team comprises 7 vets supported by 7 RVNs, with a clinical lead in small animal surgery. Many of our RVNs have been with us for over 10 years. We foster a friendly, close-knit environment where case discussions and knowledge sharing are encouraged to support professional development.

Work-life balance is a top priority for us." - Sarah, Branch Manager
