Job description

Salary up to £65,000 DOE, Welcome Bonus up to £2,500 plus Relocation Allowance up to £2,500

Robson Vets in Laurencekirk are excited to welcome an enthusiastic and confident small animal vet to join our experienced and supportive team. As one of our current vets transitions to focus on Internal Medicine, we are seeking a new team member who thrives in a dynamic environment. We are a Tier 2 RCVS accredited practice with a branch in the scenic seaside town of Montrose, and we are proud to provide exceptional care to a variety of pets, including exotics!

What You'll Be Stepping Into

This role offers a diverse mix of consulting and operating, shared over a 4-day working week (up to 40 hours). Though we are a first-opinion practice, we pride ourselves on performing comprehensive in-house investigations, making use of and continuously building on the expertise within our team. We strongly support and encourage ongoing professional development, including studying toward advanced qualifications. We have excellent relationships with referral practices, and for more advanced procedures, we work with a visiting orthopaedic surgeon. While our out-of-hours services are covered by Vets Now in Aberdeen and Dundee, our dedicated nursing team remains on-site to care for in-patients around the clock when needed.

Our Facilities

Our practice is equipped with state-of-the-art tools, including digital dental and standard radiography, a cold laser, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and a recently upgraded ultrasound machine with a cardiac probe. We boast a fully equipped in-house laboratory with biochemistry, haematology, urinalysis, and cytology capabilities, with plans to add tabletop AI slide interpretation in the near future. Our facilities also include dedicated dog, cat, ICU, and isolation wards, 2 operating theatres, a dental suite, and an imaging room. We are proud to hold the ISFM Cat Friendly Silver award, are a Positive Pawprint Partner, and a PDSA Partner Practice.

Location and Lifestyle

Laurencekirk sits on the border between Angus and Aberdeenshire, offering an ideal balance of rural and urban living. You'll be just 30 minutes from Aberdeen and 40 minutes from Dundee, with quick access to the stunning landscapes of the Cairngorms, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Hillwalking, beaches (both sandy and rugged), and a host of other recreational activities are all within easy reach, allowing for a fantastic work-life balance.
