Here at Forest Veterinary Group, we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing team, to be based at our Port Talbot and Neath practice. You will see a varied caseload and would welcome any interest (surgery, medicine).

At Forest Vets, we value our team. We are a small animal practice with two sites, focused on providing compassionate, high-quality care for both our clients and patients.

Work life balance that works for you

We understand that work life balance is important, and our people are at the heart of everything we do, so we are happy to discuss part time hours.

Typically, this role would be full-time worked over a four-day week, between 8:30am and 6:30pm plus Saturdays from 9:00am to 12pm on a rota basis. No out-of-hours requirements will be needed.

Our established practice

Port Talbot is just off the M4 in a residential area, a 10 minute walk from the train station, lovely park next door and bowling green. There are also some lovely local cafes within walking distance. We are a 20 minute drive to the city of Swansea and only a 35 minute drive to the pretty seaside village of Mumbles.

Our practices are well-equipped for the best possible patient care, including a brand-new ultrasound, endoscope, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, and more. We are also investing in a dental x-ray and new dental machine.

Our qualified clinicians are ready to support you in your development, and have over 15+ years of experience and a broad range of clinical experience and interests, including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, ultrasound, cytology and more. We encourage progression and currently have 2 vets studying certs in oncology and Advanced diagnostic imaging.

Our team is committed and passionate, providing gold standard care to our clients and their pets, and includes a dedicated mental health first aider.
