Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - Orwell Well Vets, Ipswich

Responsibilities

• Join our team and participate in the consulting or surgery rota.
• Caseload is small animal, including dentistry (including dental x-ray), basic orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, imaging (digital x-ray, new ultrasound machine and endoscopy), medicine, laparoscopic surgery.
• Drive between our main hospital and 2 branch surgeries (full driving licence required).

About the Practice

Orwell Veterinary Group is based in and around Ipswich, Suffolk. We have an RCVS-accredited hospital and 2 consulting-only branches. Our Grange Farm Hospital features 3 consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, a dedicated dental suite, imaging room, ICU, isolation, dog and cat wards, and a spacious prep area. We have laparoscopy equipment, dental radiography, a modern ultrasound machine, and standard hospital equipment. There are plans for expansion and new equipment.

The surgery is near Ipswich, offering a balance of town and rural settings, with the beach nearby and convenient rail access to London.

Work-Life Balance and Hours

We offer flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle. Shifts are typically 08:30-18:30 with some early or late shifts within 8:00-19:00. Some weekends may be required, depending on hours worked. Current full-time vets work 1 in 5 Saturdays 08:00-12:30. There are no out-of-hours commitments in this role.

There will be a requirement to work some weekends, but this will depend on the number of hours worked in a week.
