Job description

Veterinary Surgeon - Fixed term maternity cover - Part time

Salary of up to £66,000 FTE pro rata

Are you an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon looking for a flexible role that offers a great work-life balance and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact?

Find a place to excel

Acorn Vets is a 2-site practice. The main site on Portland Road has 2 vets working supported by 3-4 vet nurses per day. The Hangleton road branch supports a smaller but tight-knit community and would be sole charge with a nurse supporting. Equipment includes in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound machine, digital dental x-ray, operating theatre.

There are local attractions around both sites, a 5-minute walk from a beautiful seafront and a 10-minute drive to the South Downs. Hove is situated within Brighton and is a really fun place to live and work and has great transport links to London.

Your Role at Acorn Vets

This exciting part-time position offers flexibility to suit your lifestyle, working 2 days a week and 1:4 Saturday mornings. You'll primarily be based at our Hove branch, with occasional shifts at our Hangleton practice.

In this role, you'll work across a varied 1st opinion caseload, including GP consultations and surgeries, dentals as well as opportunities to develop your skills in your preferred area of expertise.

Flexible Working with No OOH

We understand the importance of balance. There's no out-of-hours work, and weekend commitments include only 1:4 Saturday mornings.

Join our supportive Team

At Acorn, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit, supportive team where collaboration is key, and every voice is valued. With two well-equipped practices in Hove, we provide exceptional care to pets.

Our modern facilities and RCVS accreditation ensure the highest standards of care, and our welcoming team will make you feel right at home from day one.

If you're seeking a fulfilling career with flexibility, support, and the chance to thrive in a vibrant community, we'd love to hear from you!

This is a fixed term contract for maternity cover.
