Overview
Salary up to £70,000 DOE. We have a great opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Alcombe Vets. The role can be shaped to suit your strengths, with a mix of consults and surgery available. We actively support case continuity and have the facilities to fully work up cases in-house. Our surgical caseload includes soft tissue surgeries such as gastrotomies, cystotomies, enterotomies, mass removals, pyometras, and ear procedures. We also perform endoscopic GI investigations and regularly see advanced dental cases. We’ve recently added a new ultrasound machine, and a new dental X-ray system will be arriving soon.
Responsibilities
- Provide a mix of consults and surgical duties to support case continuity.
- Manage surgical caseload including soft tissue procedures such as gastrotomies, cystotomies, enterotomies, mass removals, pyometras, and ear procedures.
- Contribute to endoscopic GI investigations and advanced dental cases.
- Utilise newly available equipment (ultrasound, dental X-ray) as part of routine diagnostics and treatment planning.
- Collaborate within a well-equipped, in-house team and participate in continuous case workups where appropriate.
Work pattern and environment
- Rota patterns designed to fit your needs; full or part-time hours available with flexibility.
- Typical full-time role is 40 hours over 4/5 days; no sole charge, weekends, bank holidays, or out-of-hours shifts.
- Based in a well-established, community-focused practice with good transport links to Central London and proximity to Heathrow Airport.
- Facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental equipment, endoscope, rhinoscope, ECG, suction, electrocautery, digital microscope with camera, and in-house lab; two spacious consult rooms, a surgical theatre, a dental/procedure station, and dedicated imaging area.
