Are you looking for a fulfilling veterinary role within a genuinely supportive and experienced team? At Cambridge Veterinary Group, we're excited to welcome a new colleague to our well-established and welcoming practice in the heart of this vibrant and historic city. Whether you're looking to develop your clinical skills or simply want to be part of a collaborative and caring team, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
A Modern Practice with a Personal Touch
We are a medium-sized, single-site small animal practice committed to delivering high-quality, personalised care to a loyal and varied client base. Our facilities are modern and thoughtfully designed to support both patient wellbeing and team efficiency. We have three spacious consulting rooms, a dedicated prep area, separate cat and dog wards, an isolation unit, a fully equipped theatre, and a dedicated imaging room. The practice is equipped with a wide range of diagnostic and treatment tools, including main beam and dental X-ray, flexible and rigid endoscopes, a video otoscope and VetPump, ultrasound, cryopen, K-laser, a Doppler blood pressure monitor, multiparameter monitor, and a fully equipped internal laboratory. We also have a dedicated puppy paddock and school to support early socialisation and training.
A Varied Caseload and Supportive Team
Our caseload includes cats, dogs, and a wide range of exotic species, offering great variety in your clinical day. The role involves a mix of consulting and surgery, with just over half of your time spent working directly with clients and their pets. Surgical work typically involves routine procedures and staged dentistry, while we also manage medicine and surgical cases to a high standard in-house. When needed, we are well supported by local referral centres for more complex or orthopaedic cases.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of seven vets, eight RVNs, and nine support staff. Among us are certificate holders in Advanced Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, Small Animal Medicine, and Cert AVP. Our nursing team is integral to the practice and plays a leading role in patient care, running a variety of clinics covering everything from vaccinations and preventative healthcare to nutrition, senior pet support, and wellness checks.
A Culture of Collaboration and Growth
We're proud of the positive and inclusive culture we've built. Clinical meetings, case discussions, and M&M reviews are part of our routine and help maintain high standards while supporting professional growth. We're also fortunate to have a visiting professor of ophthalmology who works closely with our team, providing additional learning opportunities and expert mentorship.
Our achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of the whole team. We are RCVS accredited as a Small Animal General Practice, hold Chicken Vet accreditation, have Bronze status as an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic, and are recognised as a Silver RWAF Rabbit-Friendly Practice. We've also been named one of the Top 3 Vets in Cambridge by Three Best Rated for three consecutive years-2022, 2023, and 2024.
Rooted in the Community
We are passionate about giving back and work closely with local animal welfare organisations including Cats Protection and the RSPCA, supporting pets and their owners across the wider community.
