Are you looking for a fulfilling role in a supportive and experienced team? Cambridge Veterinary Group is seeking a new colleague to join our well-established, friendly practice in the heart of this beautiful city.
As a medium-sized, single-site practice, we take pride in delivering outstanding client care. Our modern facilities include three consulting rooms, a prep area, dedicated wards, an isolation ward, a fully equipped theatre, and an imaging room. We are a small animal practice caring for cats, dogs, and a variety of exotic species, offering a diverse and rewarding caseload.
Your role will involve a mix of consulting and surgical work, with just over half of your time spent getting to know our clients and their pets. Surgical cases primarily consist of routine procedures and staged dentistry, with complex cases and orthopaedics referred when necessary.
We are a warm and collaborative team that prides itself on high clinical standards and compassionate patient care. With a strong and loyal client base, we are also well known for our expertise in exotic animal care. Our team consists of seven vets, eight RVNs, and nine dedicated support staff, including four certificate holders. Many of our nurses have also pursued advanced training, and we regularly hold clinical meetings, practice discussions, and M&M reviews to continuously enhance our standards. Additionally, we are fortunate to have an ophthalmology professor visit our practice regularly.
Beyond clinical work, we are passionate about supporting our local community and work closely with charities such as Cats Protection and the RSPCA.
We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life. We can offer flexibility that actually works for you.
This is a full-time position of four 10-hours days, a mixture of consults and surgery, with a share in the weekend rota of Saturday morning consultations and responsibility for any inpatient care over the weekend. An hour's lunch break is scheduled along with consults finishing 30 minutes before the end of the day. Out-of-hours care is provided by a local centre, there is no on-call.
