Job summary

Scarsdale Vets in Stapenhill, near Burton upon Trent, invites a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team on a permanent basis. The role offers a mix of routine and emergency medical/surgical cases at our RCVS accredited branches.

We provide flexible rota patterns, with a typical 38 hours per week over four days and a shared weekend rota. A welcome bonus of £5,000 (pro rata) and relocation support up to £5,000 are on offer, with earnings up to £68,000 DOE.

The role offers a mix of both routine and emergency medical/surgical cases. It’s essential that you enjoy what you do so we will work with you to create a role that suits your interest and skill set. A typical full time role would involve working 38 hours per week over a 4 day week, along with our shared weekend rota. You’ll receive time back in lieu for all weekend work.

We are a multisite practice situated in the Midlands. In addition to our main RCVS Tier 3 accredited hospital we have 8 practice sites - all our sites are accredited by the RCVS under the Practice Standards Scheme. We have a talented and enthusiastic team of Veterinary Surgeons, as well as our roster of New Grad Vets that supported by an exceptional team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Client Care Advisors.

Many of our team, both vets and nurses, are certificate holders including Medicine, Surgery, ECC, Ophthalmology and Imaging and we actively encourage and support Certificate study. Our main hospital at Derby is well equipped with a CT scanner, MRI, Advanced Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital X-ray, Dental radiography, and multiple surgical suites, as well as an onsite hydrotherapy & rehabilitation centre and benefits from a multi-disciplinary specialist led referral service.
