Job description

Make Your Mark at Hollygate Vets - Where Care Comes First

Hollygate is a long-established, small animal practice that blends modern veterinary care with genuine community spirit. While dogs and cats make up most of our patient list, we’re also proud to welcome small furries and exotic pets through our doors-every animal is treated like one of our own.

A Practice That Feels Like Home

Our compact yet well-equipped practice is designed with both patients and staff in mind. We’ve got two bright, spacious consult rooms, a dedicated surgery suite, a tidy prep room, and a fully stocked dispensary. Our cosy staff area is the perfect spot for a breather with tea, coffee, and a biscuit tin that’s always generously filled.

You’ll have access to digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, a full in-house lab, and a tonometer giving you everything you need to provide top-notch care.

A Balanced Role with Room to Grow

As one of our veterinary surgeons, you’ll enjoy a varied caseload with a healthy split between consultations and surgery. Mondays will be sole charge, giving you the chance to take the lead and shape the day your way.

Surgical cases are predominantly routine such as spays, dentals, lump removals-but there’s the opportunity to get involved with more advanced soft tissue procedures if that’s your thing.

Our brilliant RVNs run their own clinics and are actively involved in patient care, offering services from nail clipping and anal gland care to wellness checks, second vaccinations, and six-month MOTs. They’re a vital part of the team and make life as a vet that much easier.

A Team That Feels Like Family

At Hollygate, you won’t get lost in a crowd. We’re a small, close-knit team who look out for one another. You’ll be working alongside three experienced vets, including one with a certificate in ophthalmology, two fantastic RVNs, and our dedicated support staff.

We believe in giving back, too. We work closely with charities like Dogs Trust and Cats Protection, and we love being part of our local community whether that’s through offering care for rescues or pets or visiting schools to inspire the next generation of animal lovers.

If you’re looking for a friendly, supportive team where you can enjoy both the clinical and community sides of veterinary life, we’d love to hear from you. Come join us at Hollygate where every day is a chance to make a difference.

Flexible patterns that work for you

This is a fixed term contract for a minimum of 6 months. Working 30.5 hours over 4 days with Wednesdays off, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings - 9am-12pm and no OOH. Salary up to £65,000 FTE
