Shipley and Idle Vets are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join on a permanent basis. We’re keen to support different rotas, shifts and hours to offer you the work life balance you need. We run 15-minute consultations with protected admin time and breaks, to ensure time to follow up on cases and spend more time with patients. A caseload tailored to your clinical interests is available, and a consult-only role can be considered.
We offer true flexibility with this role. Consults only or part-time hours can be arranged. A typical full-time role involves covering 40 hours per week over 4 weekdays (08:30 - 19:00), plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (09:00 - 13:00) to cover consults only.
A team dedicated to continuous professional development. We offer a friendly and welcoming environment with a team including Vet Surgeons, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs and Receptionists. Our vets frequently report strong support from nurse and reception teams. We have a dedicated mental health first aider on shift and offer full certificate support for development.
The practice handles routine and preventative work, as well as interesting medical and surgical cases. We provide first opinion care to small animals and work up cases to high standards. We also work with a local hedgehog charity. The practice is well equipped with a new ultrasound machine (abdominal and cardiac), Digital X-ray, Endoscopy (flexible and rigid), Laparoscopy, and more. The main site is in a market town near Saltaire with good travel links to Leeds.
