Role Overview

Abbey Vet Clinic in Arbroath is looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a permanent, forward‑thinking team. The role offers real clinical freedom, a varied caseload and an opportunity to develop clinical interests, mentor colleagues or take on greater responsibility within a well‑established practice.

Responsibilities
  • Manage routine procedures and deliver high‑standard care in complex medical and surgical cases, including pyometra, lump removals, GI foreign bodies and dentistry.
  • Work on a dedicated cat clinic in partnership with Cats Protection.
  • Collaborate with a skilled nursing team on nurse‑led clinics and provide hands‑on support to patients.
  • Mentor and support less experienced colleagues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development within the practice.
Qualifications

Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with registration to practice in the United Kingdom. Demonstrated confidence and competency in performing a wide range of clinical procedures, with the ability to work independently within a 40‑hour week and fulfil Saturday‑morning rota duties as required.

Working Arrangements

Full‑time position based on 40 hours per week across a 4 or 5‑day week, with no out‑of‑hours requirements. Flexible rota patterns and part‑time or flexible working arrangements are available to match the right candidate’s lifestyle.
