Job description

Veterinary Surgeon – Romford

  • Rare and remarkable opportunity for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join the close-knit team at a proudly independent, two-branch practice in Romford
  • Practice ethos built on trust, continuity of care, a down-to-earth, client-first approach and a focus on delivering affordable, high-quality care
  • Full clinical freedom and the opportunity to work cases up thoroughly, with no pressure from KPIs or sales targets!
  • Both full- or part-time applications encouraged
  • Fantastic benefits package, including a generous salary up to £75,000 DOE and accommodation and vehicle provided if needed!

Purovets are proud to be working with a proudly independent, two-branch practice that has provided exemplary care in the Romford area since 1986. Their ethos is built on trust, continuity of care, and doing what’s best for their patients, and they’re renowned for their down-to-earth, client-first approach and a team that genuinely loves what they do. How would you like to join that team?

We’re looking for a confident veterinary surgeon who’s keen to expand their capabilities and thrives in a busy environment. You’ll have full clinical freedom and the opportunity to work cases up thoroughly, with no pressure from KPIs or sales targets. They focus on building strong client relationships and delivering affordable, high-quality care; KPIs and sales targets are not remotely important to them, so you won’t see any financial whip-cracking here!

You’ll be joining a close-knit team of 4 vets, including certificate holders in internal medicine and exotics, and 16 nurses, many of whom have trained and progressed within the practice from VCA to SVN to RVN. Their nurses are not only long-standing but also expertly trained, knowing the practice like the back of their hands. They’re absolutely integral to operations, assisting in surgeries, consultations, and providing exceptional patient care. The practice also regularly collaborate with visiting surgical specialists who are more than willing to offer a hand and pass on their expert knowledge.

You will primarily be based at one branch, however there is flexibility built in the rota to allow you to work at both branches if desired. Both of their branches are fantastically well-equipped, with an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, dental radiography, ultrasound and more! Their full-time rota is a 4-day week from 9am to 7pm, with 1 in 4 weekends and no OOHs whatsoever. You will work either a Saturday or a Sunday on a weekend, never both, and you will receive time off in lieu the following week. Part-time applications are also more than welcome.

If you’re a dedicated veterinary surgeon looking to work in a supportive, client-focused environment with a team that values clinical freedom and professional growth, we’d love to hear from you!

Rota:

  • 4-day week, 9am – 7pm
  • Part-time applications welcome
  • 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday or Sunday, never both) with TOIL
  • No OOHs

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £75,000 DOE
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • £1,500 CPD allowance with flexibility for further development
  • Certificate support
  • RCVS and VDS fees covered
  • Statutory pension scheme
  • On-site accommodation and car available if needed
