Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity at Independent Hospital in Norfolk!

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving independent, RCVS accredited Tier 3 small animal hospital in the heart of Norfolk. This state-of-the-art hospital is fully equipped with cutting edge facilities, including DR X-Ray, CT, Cardiology Level Ultrasound, Storz scopes and a Bespoke Dental Suite with Dental X-Ray, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. As an ISFM Gold Standard hospital, they are committed to excellence in feline medicine and beyond.

The practice boasts a collaborative and supportive team of 15 vets and 35 nurses, including certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine, with others currently working towards qualifications in Ophthalmology, Cardiology, ECC, and Surgery. With a focus on sustainability, the hospital operates on renewable energy and proudly holds a Bronze Award for Investors in The Environment.

Their rota is designed with flexibility in mind, and you will only work 36 hours across the standard 4-day week. You will work three normal shifts which run from 8:30am – 5:30pm, with one early or late shift a week running from 7am – 4pm or 10am – 7pm respectively. There is a night rota every 1 in 9 weeks, from 7pm to 7am, for which you will receive a £5,000 bonus and a week off in lieu. The Saturday and Sunday rota is 1 in 5 from 7am – 5:30pm or 8:30am – 7pm, and you’ll get time off in lieu on the Friday before and Monday after.

The Rota

  • Full-time position, 4 days per week
  • 36 hours; 8:30am – 5:30pm, with one early or late shift a week running from 7am – 4pm or 10am – 7pm
  • 1 in 5 weekends with TOIL; 7am – 5:30pm or 8:30am – 7pm
  • One block of 7 nights every 9 weeks with a 7-day recovery period
  • £5,000 annual night shift allowance, awarded in the month of your first night shift rotation
