Job summary

GLG Vets in Northamptonshire is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-run first-opinion practice. You’ll enjoy a role with genuine flexibility to shape a pattern that fits your life while maintaining strong clinical standards and client relationships.

The role offers up to £65k, with no out-of-hours commitments and a fair 1 in 3 Saturday rota. You’ll work autonomously at times, collaborating with RVNs and support staff to deliver balanced, high-quality care.

About the job Veterinary Surgeon – Northamptonshire

This is a role built on common sense and flexibility. The practice is ideally looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon, but they're genuinely open to shaping the working pattern around the right person. If you want balance without stepping back clinically, this one hits the sweet spot.

Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £65,000 (DOE)
Hours: Ideally full-time, with flexibility to agree a pattern that works for everyone
Weekends: 1 in 3 Saturdays (limited cover to keep it fair)
OOH: None
Sole charge: Some required

The Role

You'll be joining a well-run first-opinion practice with a supportive team and realistic expectations. The caseload is sensible, consult times are manageable, and theres trust in your clinical judgement.

There is an element of sole charge, making this a good fit for a vet who enjoys autonomy — but without the pressure of nights or out-of-hours responsibility.
