An exciting opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated and welcoming small animal practice located in the heart of Buckingham. This is an ideal role for a vet looking for clinical variety, a collaborative team environment, and the flexibility to achieve a healthy work-life balance.
This independent-minded practice has been a valued part of the local community for over 10 years, building a loyal client base and a diverse, interesting caseload. The team is small, friendly, and hardworking, consisting of a head vet, another part-time vet, experienced nurses, student nurses, a care assistant, and a supportive reception team. Regular locums are part of the extended team and return frequently due to the positive and inclusive culture.

Separate cat and dog wards
Isolation unit
Multiple consult rooms
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), but part-time options will be considered. There are no out-of-hours requirements, and the team is happy to offer flexibility with days off and start/finish times to promote a sustainable work-life balance. The weekend rota involves 1 in 3 Saturdays (8am6pm), with flexibility open to discussion.
The role includes a mixture of consultations and surgery, with time and support to build cases, strengthen client relationships, and develop clinical skills.
Experienced veterinary surgeon
Comfortable with sole charge
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Solid understanding of first opinion practice
Enthusiastic about ongoing professional development
Salary £55,000 £70,000 (pro-rata, DOE)
