Overview

Experienced Veterinary Surgeon – RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice, Merseyside. This RCVS accredited clinic offers state-of-the-art facilities including in-house lab, X-ray, ultrasound, laser surgery, and advanced dentistry. The practice provides a supportive, family-focused environment with opportunities for clinical leadership and autonomy.

The Role

The Veterinary Surgeon will be accountable for the highest standards of patient care within the clinic, ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of compassion and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:

Client Care
  • Deliver exceptional service to clients every day
  • Address client concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Provide regular updates on patient care, including out-of-hours or enhanced care cases
Patient Care
  • Perform consultations, procedures, admissions and discharges
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Oversee clinical handovers and arrange OOH or enhanced care transfers
  • Prescribe medications and conduct dispensing checks
Commercial Performance
  • Prepare accurate treatment estimates and ensure timely payment
  • Minimise debt and support action plans to resolve client issues
  • Optimise clinic capacity through effective use of clinical skills
Clinical Administration
  • Ensure laboratory tests are carried out correctly
  • Escalate issues to the Practice Manager when required

The Rota

4 day week
1:6 full weekends
No OOH

Candidate Profile
  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong clinical leadership and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding clinical care to both clients and patients
