Job description

Veterinary Surgeon – Leeds

  • Step into a cutting edge Tier 3 hospital in Leeds with an incredible suite of facilities, including onsite CT, laparoscopy, dental x-ray, ICU, and separate dog, cat, and exotic wards.
  • Work alongside a collaborative team of certificate holders and experienced professionals who champion mentorship, learning, and clinical freedom.
  • Enjoy a varied caseload from routine GP to advanced surgical and medical cases, with full support to grow your expertise in any clinical direction.
  • Earn up to £60,000 DOE, plus a generous benefits package, all while maintaining an excellent work-life balance in one of the UK’s most dynamic cities.

Looking for a role where you can experience the best of general practice in a truly supportive, well-equipped hospital setting – while still having time for life beyond the clinic? This fantastic Tier 3 hospital in Leeds is on the lookout for a confident, enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in a collaborative environment and values clinical freedom as much as work-life balance.

This isn’t just any hospital – with an incredible suite of facilities, including a full imaging suite (x-ray, ultrasound, onsite CT, and visiting MRI), four theatres with a dedicated surgical nursing team, a dental suite with x-ray, rigid and flexible endoscopy including laparoscopy, and top tier inpatient facilities (ICU, separate dog/cat/exotic wards, day and long stay care areas), you’ll have all the tools you need to work up and manage cases thoroughly and confidently. A fully equipped on-site lab with a dedicated technician means quicker results and better outcomes.

The caseload is wonderfully varied, from routine general practice to complex surgical and medical cases, allowing you to continually grow and sharpen your skills. You'll be working alongside an experienced and friendly team, including certificate holders and a fantastic nursing team, in a culture that values mentorship, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

This practice truly supports you to be the vet you want to be. Whether your passion is surgery, internal medicine, imaging or developing in new areas, you’ll be encouraged and supported every step of the way. The culture is grounded in kindness, open communication, and supporting one another – because when the team thrives, so do the patients.

Based in Leeds, you’ll benefit from all the perks of a vibrant city lifestyle – great restaurants, culture, green spaces and excellent transport links – with beautiful countryside just a short drive away.

If you're ready to bring your skills to a team that values your expertise and well-being in equal measure, this is the role for you!
