Overview

Are you an experienced vet looking to join a very experienced team with an incredibly low staff turnover?

The practice is expanding after moving to a new site. The clinical team has over 20 years of experience each, and there is a surgical certificate holder in practice. This role would suit a full-time applicant and will include 1 in 4 Saturday mornings; part-time opportunities may be discussed at interview. No OOH or Sundays.

This role is ideal for a veterinary surgeon with experience who wants access to a varied case load to increase knowledge. Certificates and CPD are encouraged and supported. There are two contract options currently: a 12-month FTC to cover MAT leave and a full-time permanent vet role due to practice growth. Excellent salary available up to £65,000.

About Us

Our practice is located in Durham, a location known for its magnificent Cathedral and Castle. The practice has moved to a larger space and is expanding the team. The veterinary team currently comprises 4 full-time vets and 1 part-time vet, with a wealth of experience to support you in an environment that challenges and nurtures you. There are 9 RVNs and 1 SVN, supported by a Practice Manager, Administrator and Client Care Coordinators to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The role

We are ideally looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who is confident with all routine surgery and consults. We are looking for you to join on a full-time basis, but different hours can be discussed. We work Monday to Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday mornings 8:30am to 12:00pm (1 in 4 basis) with no OOH or Sundays. There are currently two roles: one fixed-term to cover MAT leave for up to 1 year (consult-only option available), and a permanent full-time role (part-time considered) for someone comfortable with all aspects of a GP role.
