Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding, award-winning home euthanasia service. Home Vet NI is an independent home euthanasia service for cats and dogs around Northern Ireland. We pride ourselves in helping owners say goodbye to their pets peacefully, in the comfort of their own home. We look after our clients before, during, and after the euthanasia process.

We are looking for a compassionate vet to join our team on a casual/locum basis. The role can be adaptable to fit around another job and family life. Includes evening and weekend work. May suit a candidate looking for a flexible and less demanding role or a vet looking to retire from general practice.

The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills, good availability, and a passion for helping bereaved clients during a difficult time. The role is for a mobile small animal vet, so must have their own car and be willing to travel to clients' homes. Two years’ experience in small animal practice is essential. Training could be provided in bereavement support.

We would be interested to speak to vets in North Belfast and surrounding areas. Other areas also considered for the right person.
