At Animates, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, first opinion general practice vet to join the team full or part-time for 12 months maternity cover. This role offers a varied and interesting caseload with opportunities to consult, investigate, operate, and follow cases through.

Flexible Hours to suit you

The standard full-time rota consists of 40 hours per week over 4 days, between 8am to 7pm. Shifts run from Monday to Saturday, with Saturday finishing at 5pm. All vets share the Saturday rota equally, allowing for flexible days off. We are also open to discussing bespoke part-time rotas during the interview process.

About us

We are a busy first opinion, 2-site small animal practice, developing our Thurlby location into separate buildings for cats and dogs to enhance care. Our fully equipped practice includes 7 vets, 9 RVNs, and 10 support staff, with a focus on training and development. We provide high-quality care for small animals and exotic species, with additional specialist support for orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery. Out-of-hours care is provided by Vets Now in Peterborough.

Consulting vets have support from a dispensary nurse, allowing for 20-minute consultations focused on building client relationships. We prioritize team wellbeing, structured workflows, and offer regular wellbeing activities and events.

The practice is located near Peterborough and Stamford, offering excellent transport links, a vibrant high street, and outdoor leisure activities at Rutland Water.
