Job summary

Beckenham Vets for Pets in Beckenham, England, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our growing small animal team. This role offers 20‑minute consultations, strong nursing support, and a clinical pathway designed to develop your surgical skills while maintaining a collaborative, supportive culture.

The position can be full‑time or part‑time, with a four‑day week, no out‑of‑hours, and a Saturday rota moving toward one in four.

Qualifications

• Be confident managing consultations and your own cases
• Be comfortable with routine surgery including spays and castrations
• Be proficient in emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery, including procedures such as exploratory laparotomy, cystotomy, pyometra surgery and caesarean section
• Have at least three years of small animal veterinary experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct 20-minute consultations with patients and clients
• Perform routine surgeries and soft tissue procedures
• Provide emergency medicine support as needed
• Pursue postgraduate qualifications and CPD to progress skills
