A modern and well-equipped veterinary practice in Balderton, near Newark, is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team. Situated on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border, the practice benefits from excellent transport linksjust over an hour by train to Londonand offers a varied caseload in a vibrant market town setting.
The practice is spacious and purpose-designed, featuring separate cat and dog wards, three consult rooms (including a dedicated feline consult space), dental x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy facilities, and more. The team includes an experienced Lead Vet with a GP Certificate in Dermatology, a skilled RVN, a supportive VCA, and a dedicated Practice Manager.
With a strong local client base and access to a wider referral network, including MRI and CT services, this is an excellent opportunity for a vet looking to grow in a clinically rich, collaborative environment.
Working Pattern:
Full-time, 40 hours over 4 days
Flexible and part-time options considered
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding clinical care to patients during consults, diagnostics, and procedures
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
Create and manage detailed treatment plans with accurate cost estimates
Support best practice sharing across teams
Participate in clinical handovers and referrals where necessary
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to maintain a progressive and supportive culture
Whats Required:
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
Confident in general practice, with a commitment to high clinical standards
Comfortable supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
Strong team player with good communication skills
Experience or interest in mentoring junior team members is an advantage
