Job description

Veterinary Surgeon - flexible hours - great work/life balance and beach location If you're looking for the flexibility to work in the job you love, whilst having that all important work-life-balance, we want to hear from you! We're looking for a new vet to join our growing practice to help give excellent client and patient care as part of a friendly and supportive team! Who we are You'll be working alongside Jordan our Clinical Lead and Practice Owner, as well as another experienced part time vet and a full-time new graduate. We have an incredibly experienced and reliable team of five registered veterinary nurses, alongside five incredible receptionists, all led by Practice Owner/Manager, Lauren. Jordan and Lauren are forward thinking, accommodating and supportive practice owners who genuinely put their teams' wellbeing and development at the forefront of what they do, as well as supporting their clients to be able to provide the absolute best care to their beloved pets. The practice is purpose built with some great facilities including a dedicated operating theatre, 2 dedicated consult rooms, a nurse consult room/x-ray room, as well as all the kit you'd expect from a solid GP practice including a new digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, full multi-parameter monitoring equipment and other essentials. We're also happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest, as we continue to grow and expand our clinical offering. The role and you With our focus on creating a rota and workplace that allows flexibility, enjoyment and a place to thrive and grow both clinically and non-clinically, we are happy to consider applications from full or part time vets. There isn't an out-of-hours requirement, and we are closed on Sundays, allowing everyone to make the most of every minute of life outside of work! Our days are structured with 15-minute consults as standard, and time taken for lunch and admin are also factored into the day. We meet regularly as a team to discuss issues and how to progress our patient and client care, with an open and flexible approach the rest of the time. Our ideal candidate will be experienced and confident with routine neutering, as well as having a good grasp of typical first opinion procedures and emergency and critical care.

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

  • Salary of £45,000 to £65,000 FTE, commensurate with experience.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time).
  • RCVS and VDS memberships are paid.
  • Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary.
  • Contributory Pension Scheme.
  • Dedicated CPD allowance including support towards Certificates.
  • Relocation Allowance.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes - Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA.
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards through our reward hub- including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room and Vet Group.
  • Not only are we offering a great role, but the opportunity for a great lifestyle too! Our practice is situated in Dorchester; in the heart of Dorset, close to idyllic beaches, dramatic coastlines and scenic walks. Dorchester, and nearby Weymouth, have vibrant social scenes, 'outstanding' schools in the area and great transport links to London - a relocation package is available for the right candidate.
