Overview

Veterinary Surgeon - Flexible Hours

Southampton Companion Care is a well-established, 17-year-old practice with complete partner ownership and autonomy. Our practice owners, Ruth (Vet) and Carly (RVN), lead a dedicated team committed to providing the best possible care for our clients and their pets. We see a wide variety of interesting medical and surgical cases – including dentistry and a small number of exotics – providing a great opportunity to learn and develop your skills. Ruth and our second vet, Alice, both hold PG certificates in imaging. The practice has also recently been awarded the Silver Rabbit Friendly Status by the Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund for the second year running. We’re also pleased to be welcoming a new graduate vet who will be joining us through our award-winning graduate program, continuing our commitment to development and learning. As an RCVS accredited training practice, you'll be working with an incredible nursing team made up of 6 RVNs, 3 student nurses, and an experienced veterinary care assistant. Our nurses perform schedule 3 procedures and are led by Carly, our Head Nurse and co-owner, who brings 17 years of experience to the role. You’ll also be supported by our fantastic team of receptionists.

The role and you

This role is offered with flexible hours and a mix of surgery and consultations. Whether you're looking for school-time hours, fewer days with longer shifts, or something else, we're open to discussing a working pattern that suits you.

There is no OOH, and we maintain a clear diary structure with 15-minute consults as standard.

We're looking for a team player with strong GP experience, excellent communication skills, and a shared commitment to providing the highest level of veterinary care to our clients and their pets.

What you'll receive
