An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at Isle Vets. We are seeking a driven vet with at least two years of experience to join us on this journey. Salary up to £65,000 DOE.

Work-Life Balance

We understand that balance is key. The rota is designed with flexibility in mind. This role is based on a four-day week up to 40 hours, with 1:3 Saturday mornings and 1 night per week on call. Full-time is available, and part-time hours can be discussed for the right candidate.

Role Details

In this role, you will enjoy a good balance between consulting and operating on a variety of routine and urgent cases. We can accommodate a consult-only role if preferred. Our work includes dentals, orthopedics, thyroidectomies, scans, a brand-new DR x-ray machine, varying soft tissue surgeries, and endoscopy, all within our state-of-the-art lab with in-house testing.

We are a busy first-opinion practice with a purpose-built building in the rural area of Ely, Cambridgeshire. We have a wide range of veterinary equipment, including a brand-new x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, and dental x-ray. We have an experienced and supportive team that fosters a positive working environment. Our team is the best thing about us; we are like a family.

Team and Collaboration

We have a 6-vet team, each with their own areas of interest and enhanced knowledge (including diagnostic imaging certification). There is a visiting orthopedic surgeon and an ECC Nurse, with ongoing study encouraged. The vets regularly discuss cases to enhance patient care. A visiting orthopaedic specialist visits regularly, with opportunities for our vets to be involved. We also have an 8-nurse team with specialists in wound care, ISFM certification, and Emergency and Critical Care.

Making a Difference

We work closely with local charities such as WGAS and the RSPCA, and we also have exclusive partnerships with Cats Protection Ely and Downham Market. These partnerships expand the variety and meaning of the cases we handle daily.
