We're looking for a great equine vet to join our team as an Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon. Our greatest asset at Pool House Equine Hospital, along with our facilities, is our staff. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of experienced veterinary professionals, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to provide exceptional care for your patients.
Our ambulatory vets are supported by a large team of specialists, residents, and interns at our hospital, while serving a wide range of equine clientele, from leading show jumpers to children's first ponies. All classes of horse are cared for.
Pool House Equine Hospital is a first opinion and referral practice, part of the IVC Evidensia Equine Group. We're an accredited Tier 3 hospital located in Fradley near Lichfield, close to the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District National Park. With easy access to the motorway network, mainline railway stations, and Birmingham International Airport, Lichfield is centrally located in England.
The hospital features GA operating and standing theatres, preparation areas, DR digital X-ray, examination/radiography rooms, and stocks. It has stabling for up to 34 horses and modern equipment including MRI. As an ambulatory vet, you'll be equipped with mobile digital X-ray, ultrasound, shock wave, digital gastroscope, and fiberoptic endoscopes. An in-house laboratory and excellent practice support, including ERVN, are also available. Our team includes professionals with advanced certificates and diplomate status in various specialties, supported by receptionists, yard, and administrative staff.
We welcome applicants who are dedicated, experienced professionals interested in full-time, part-time, part-year, or OOH work, offering a great work-life balance. A typical full-time role involves 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30 - 17:00), plus OOH rota. We are flexible to support different working patterns to suit your needs.
