Purosearch Ltd. is recruiting for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing independent small animal and exotic practice on the outskirts of the Lake District near Barrow-in-Furness.
The role offers a four-day week, with part-time applications considered and an attractive salary of £36,000–£70,000 DOE. The practice is well-equipped with DR X-ray, Ultrasound, 3D Adaptix imaging and Endoscopy, with plans to expand further including a CT scanner.
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a genuinely independent practice where you can enjoy a varied caseload, excellent facilities and a friendly, supportive team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing practice in Cumbria, ideally suited to a vet with at least two years of experience who is looking for their next long-term role.
Established just over three years ago, the practice has gone from strength to strength and is continuing to expand. With four vets currently in the team and two more already due to join, they are now looking for an additional Veterinary Surgeon to bring the team to seven vets. You will also be supported by a fantastic team of eight nurses, one student nurse and four receptionists.
The practice is predominantly small animal focused, with a varied medical and surgical caseload and plenty of opportunity to carry out thorough work-ups. They also see a growing number of exotic cases, so an interest in exotics would be welcomed but is by no means essential. For someone keen to develop in this area, there is plenty of scope to help grow the exotic caseload with excellent support available.
You will be working from a large, purposefully refurbished premises equipped with all the modern facilities you would expect, including DR X-ray, Ultrasound, a 3D Adaptix imaging system and Endoscopy. The practice also has exciting plans for further expansion, including extending the building and introducing a CT scanner. They would be particularly interested in hearing from vets with orthopaedic or imaging skills, although these are not essential.
Situated in Barrow-in-Furness on the outskirts of the beautiful Lake District, the practice offers an excellent location for anyone wanting to combine their career with easy access to some of the UK's most spectacular countryside. With the Lakes, coastline and an abundance of outdoor activities nearby, there is plenty to enjoy outside of work.
You will be joining a fun, friendly and supportive team with loyal clients and a varied caseload, making this a fantastic opportunity for an experienced vet looking to become part of an ambitious and growing independent practice.
