About us:
We are a progressive, forward-thinking general practice, proud of providing excellent patient care while making sure our colleagues feel valued and looked after.
Led by Practice Owners Rachel and Claire, our friendly team includes 6 vets, 10 RVNs, 6 SVNs, and experienced receptionists across both practices.
Our practice has a varied caseload, clinical freedom, and encourages gold-standard practice. Our team includes Certificate holders in Medicine and Ophthalmology, with ongoing studies in Dermatology, Surgery, Ultrasonography, and Cardiology. We are proud holders of the ISFM and RAW silver awards, Dog Friendly Practice award, and winners of the Vets4Pets graduate practice of the year award.
We hold fortnightly vet meetings to discuss cases, review protocols, and explore new products. Regular admin time slots and on-the-day appointments are allocated to ease daily workload.
The nursing team is highly motivated, with many holding post VN qualifications, including Certificates in Emergency & Critical Care, Infection Control, Feline Friendly Nursing, and Dermatology, with ongoing studies in Anaesthesia and ECC.
Our practices are located in Sunderland, near the North East coastline, with good transport links including metro stations, A19, A1, the airport, and main train stations.
About you:
We seek someone confident with consults and internal medicine; this might be a bias leading to a consult-only role, but we are open to covering both consults and surgery. We offer flexible working patterns to suit your preferences. Our Saturday rota is 1:4; we are not open Sundays, and you will not be required to cover OOHs or bank holidays.
Join our close-knit team providing excellent veterinary care and benefit from being part of the wider Vets4Pets network, which offers additional support and benefits, including 6.6 weeks annual leave, unlimited CPD, paid professional fees, contributory pension, and wellbeing support. Salary up to £60,000 FTE depending on experience. We support certificates and sponsorship for overseas vets.
If interested in an informal chat or applying, contact Rachel at 07771373577 or sunderlandsouthjvp@vets4pets.com / northvets@vets4pets.com. We aim to respond within 1 working day.
We are an equal opportunities employer with 6 Mental Health First Aiders. We value diversity and encourage everyone to apply, even if your skills and experience don’t exactly match the description.
