Job description


An opportunity for an Advanced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon is available at our purpose-built RCVS Accredited Small Animal Referral Hospital in Colchester.

  • Brand new, multidisciplinary Veterinary Referral Hospital with a high level of collaboration and mutual respect between colleagues, all working together to ensure the best outcome for the patient.
  • 40 strong, stable, permanent clinical team, with talented individuals in fields such as Advanced Orthopedics, Advanced Medicine, ECC, Exotics, Surgery, Medicine, Imaging, and Cardiology.
  • A supportive team environment with access to advanced equipment including a CT scanner, ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy, slit lamp, operating loupes, and CryoPen. Our colleagues have everything needed to utilize their extensive knowledge, ensuring high standards of patient and client care and job satisfaction.
  • Work alongside two other advanced surgeons to provide continuous high-level care, 7 days a week, for our growing referral caseload.
  • Enjoy mentoring and teaching opportunities for aspiring surgeons and recent graduates.
  • Dedicated night team enabling 24-hour hospitalization for in-patients.
  • Salary £80,000-£120,000 pa for a full-time role, depending on experience and skills. Part-time considered.

  • Large local client base and diverse referral caseload, offering exposure to advanced and emergency cases.
