Job summary

CVS Vets in Woking, Surrey, is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon for weekend OOH coverage with a competitive hourly rate up to £45/hour. Part-time position includes Sunday work and 3 night shifts per month.

The role involves primary care OOH, inpatient care, and surgery in a modern practice with access to advanced equipment. Applicants should have 2–3 years of experience, strong clinical autonomy, and a passion for high standards of animal care.

Qualifications

  • Must have veterinary degree and be eligible for UK registration.
  • Experience in small animal practice and OOH is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on surgical and medical cases and diagnostics.
  • Provide high-quality patient care during primary care OOH shifts.
  • Mentor and support team members in clinical standards.
  • Deliver excellent client service and build positive client relationships.
  • Work across outpatient and inpatient duties with a varied caseload.

Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Woking, Surrey.
Contract:Part Time considered – Weekend (Sunday) Each week (Hours 8am- 7om) 1 x hour lunch break + 3 x Night shift per month working (Hours) 7pm - 8am.
Practice Type: First opinion

Competitive Salary | up to £45 per hour. (DOE).

This position would suit an experienced small animal vet, preferably with a minimum of 2+ years' experience. The role involves primary care OOH consultations, receiving member practice case transfers, inpatient care, medical work ups and surgery. A strong medical knowledge is required and experience in routine and emergency surgery. You will possess good communication skills and have a passion to deliver excellent care and client service.
