Job description

Are you a Veterinarian Surgeon with an interest in emergency and critical care? Would you like access to an interesting caseload and a shift pattern that offers a great work-life balance?

We have a wonderful opportunity based in Middlesbrough, working 1 week of nights, followed by 2 weeks off, along with 1 set of weekend days every 6 weeks. This equates to approximately 32 hours per week and would be on an annualised contract.

Salary up to GBP82,000 (pro rata and dependent on experience). Opportunity for internal locum shifts.

The role

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and caring Veterinarian Surgeon to take on an out-of-hours (OOH) position in our MiNightVet service in Middlesbrough.

MiNightVet Middlesbrough is a small animal out-of-hours veterinary emergency service, welcoming dogs, cats, and small mammals. We are based in Middlesbrough and provide emergency overnight and weekend care to clients.

The MiNightVet team provides a dedicated emergency service with a full-time night nurse who is alert and effective even during unsociable hours. The qualified vets and nurses have a special interest, experience, and training in all aspects of urgent critical care.

This position would suit an experienced Veterinarian Surgeon who has surgical experience in routine and emergency procedures and possesses good communication skills. You will have a team player mentality and a passion to deliver excellent care and client service.

Salary, hours, rewards

This is a full-time role working 1 week of nights, followed by 2 weeks off, along with 1 set of weekend days every 6 weeks.

This shift pattern equates to approximately 32 hours per week and would be on an annualised contract. Due to the work pattern, there is the opportunity to add additional locum work on top with great rates within CVS.
