Job summary

Thameswood Veterinary Clinics in Swindon, Wiltshire, is seeking a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our established practice. We operate from three sites with a supportive management structure and a busy but rewarding caseload, including in-house diagnostics and a strong emphasis on CPD.

The role offers a 4-day week, a 1-in-5 weekend rota for hospitalised cases, generous holiday entitlement, and a single evening shift for on-call patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification small animal first-opinion experience.
• Confident in managing complex cases and surgical procedures.
• Good communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Autonomous in routine surgeries and capable of managing intra-operative complications.
• Provide clinical leadership across the team when on duty.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and support CPD initiatives.

THE DETAILS

• 4-day week, 8.45 am to 6.30 pm
• 1 in 5 weekend rota for any hospitalised animals, which includes Saturday morning consults
• 5 weeks' holiday plus 4/5ths of bank holidays
• 1 evening a week for any hospitalised animals
