Job summary

Thameswood Veterinary Clinics Limited is seeking a small animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our Swindon, Wiltshire practice. The role offers a starting salary of £52,000–£60,000 with probation review and accommodation for the initial two months.

We provide a supportive team across three sites, with a gold standard cat clinic at the main site and ongoing CPD in a welcoming, open culture. You will lead and mentor colleagues while handling varied caseloads.

Qualifications

• Quality of experience important, but expect a suitable candidate to have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification small animal first-opinion experience.
• A dependable clinician with solid diagnostic and medical work-up skills, confident in managing complex cases.
• An interest in and proficiency in surgery.

Responsibilities

• Varied caseload consulting
• Must be autonomous in routine surgeries and capable of managing intra-operative complications and critical cases without direct supervision.
• Acting as a reliable, supportive senior clinician on duty and providing clinical leadership across the team when needed.
• Mentoring less experienced colleagues

We are looking for a small animal Veterinary Surgeon based in Swindon, Wiltshire (SN2 2LZ).

• £52,000-£60,000 starting salary with review at the end of probation

• Operating from 3 independent sites
• Gold standard cat-only clinic at the main site
• Facilities at the main clinic allow cases to be dealt with in-house with little need for referral

THE DETAILS

• 4-day week, 8.45 am to 6.30 pm
• 1 in 5 weekend rota for any hospitalised animals, which includes Saturday morning consults
• 5 weeks' holiday plus 4/5ths of bank holidays
• 1 evening a week for any hospitalised animals
