We are a proudly independent, employee-owned practice, with a growing team of 22 vets covering a variety of species. We are a young and friendly team who take pride in providing high standard and progressive veterinary care.

We are conveniently located just off the M74, within a 1-1.5 hour drive from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the Lake District. We have the Galloway Hills right on our doorstep, offering a great location for outdoor enthusiasts.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a new small animal vet to our team in Southwest Scotland. We are ideally looking for a full-time small animal vet; however, part-time or mixed vets would be considered.

The small animal team currently consists of 8 vets ranging from full to part-time, spanning various levels of experience. We take pride in providing high standard and progressive veterinary care, all with the countryside right on our doorstep, ideal for anyone who loves the outdoors! We encourage continuous professional development amongst our vets, with our team currently consisting of 2 certificate holders and one who is currently working toward their certificate.

The role consists of a 4.5 day week, which may be spread between our two main branches in Lockerbie and Dumfries and occasionally covering our 3 other satellite branches. Case continuity is important to us; therefore, we cover our own out of hours, which consists of 1:5 weekends and 1:10 Saturday mornings.

We offer a range of in-house diagnostics including blood analysers, ultrasound, rigid and flexible endoscope, cardiac ultrasound, and x-ray (including dental x-ray). We provide in-house basic echocardiography and orthopaedic repairs, and have an in-house lab technician for cytology, etc.
